Our Doctors

Dr. Thiara received her Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego in 2004 then her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2008. She has completed internships in glaucoma management at St. Albans VA in Queens, NY, pediatric optometry OVD Center in La Jolla, CA, and full-scope optometry and LASIK co-management at the Omaha Eye Center in Nebraska.

She spent over a decade practicing in Sacramento until meeting her husband and moving to Danville in 2017. She is dedicated to providing high quality patient care using the latest technologies. In her time away from the office, Dr. Thiara loves spending time with her husband and two young children. They enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and cheering for the 49ers! 

Dr. Border grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley and graduated from optometry school at UC Berkeley in 2012. He has worked in private practices and commercial settings throughout California until recently when he moved to San Leandro as his son started preschool.

He enjoys listening to his son's stories, walking his golden retriever, riding his bicycle, playing the acoustic guitar, hiking, working on cars and building things from wood. He feels optometry has been an excellent way to meet new people while making their lives a little easier by improving their eyesight. He is available for appointments on Thursdays, Fridays, and alternating Saturdays.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. Bethany Zhang moved out to the Bay more than 10 years ago to pursue her undergraduate and graduate studies at UC Berkeley. After graduating from Berkeley Optometry, Dr. Zhang moved to Denver for a few years to experience colorful Colorado.

She recently returned to the Bay to be closer to family and friends. Outside of practicing optometry, she enjoys reading contemporary romance novels, skiing, eating at the Costco food court, and watching reality TV and TikTok.
